Forbrain® & Soundsory® for Autism: Enhancing Attention, Language, and Sensory Skills

What do Parents and Specialists say about Forbrain® and Soundsory®?

“We just finished day 7 of the Soundsory listening program today and Alex has had absolutely no problems with keeping his headphones on the whole time during each session. He seems to very much enjoy the music and puts the headphones on by himself. I have noticed a big progress in his understanding. He repeats more words, and he is definitely calmer, not running away.”

– Julia, mother of a 7 y/o autistic child

“While working with Autistic children who struggle with language, using the vestibular input of my swings in conjunction with the Forbrain helps get them better connected to and using their voice. I hear more vocalizations and attempts at language.”

– Kara (Occupational Therapist)

The Challenges of Autism

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects millions of individuals worldwide, presenting unique challenges in communication, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and attention.

Many individuals with autism experience difficulties in focusing, processing auditory information, and managing sensory sensitivities, which can impact daily life, learning, and social interactions. Finding the right tools to support these challenges is essential for promoting learning and development.

Forbrain® and Soundsory® are two innovative auditory stimulation devices designed to address these difficulties by enhancing cognitive, language, and sensory skills in individuals with autism.

Mother of Garrett, a boy with Autism

We have now been using Forbrain with Garrett for the past 6 weeks, and the difference it has made in his confidence, enunciation, and reading skills has been amazing. Prior to using Forbrain, Garrett had very little as far as pronunciation and enunciation skills. The biggest difference I noticed is how he enunciates his words while using the Forbrain unit. Words are becoming understandable and do not all run together to make one large word.

Miriam Manela (OT and Author of The Parent-Child Dance)

It has helped a 4-year-old boy who has a challenge getting out of his head. Therefore in school, he cannot refocus on what the teacher or his peers are talking to him about because he’s busy creating a story in his head. With the use of the Forbrain headphones, this boy can easily switch back and forth between topics and can focus on what his peers and teachers are telling him. He has also been able to sit more calmly during circle time.

Robin Harwell (M.A., CCC-SLP)

Forbrain definitely helps people remember, stay in tune, and gain a much better sense of self-confidence through regular use! It was very interesting to use, and it makes your voice really penetrate your nervous system, so you feel very powerful when speaking. It also seems to increase awareness since it’s so powerful feedback-wise. You get an amazing sense of your own voice!

Soundsory®: Enhancing Sensory Processing & Emotional Regulation

Soundsory is a home-based music and movement program designed to improve sensory integration, motor coordination, and emotional regulation in individuals with autism. Through neuro-acoustic stimulation, Soundsory helps users process sensory inputs more effectively, reducing hypersensitivity and promoting overall well-being.

How to use? The program consists of specially designed musical pieces with neuro-acoustic modifications, and a series of videos with movement exercises.
The program is spread over 40 days, 30 minutes each day.

How Soundsory® Helps with Autism

Soundsory helps boost sensory processing and motor skills by regulating sensory overload and improving body awareness. Its rhythmic movement exercises enhance coordination and balance, making it easier for individuals to process sensory input and move with greater control and confidence.

Enhanced Emotional Regulation

Soundsory enhances emotional regulation by reducing anxiety, promoting resilience, and supporting self-soothing. Its music and movement exercises encourage relaxation and improve sensory processing, fostering a greater sense of control and stability.

Improved Cognitive & Social Skills

Soundsory improves cognitive and social skills by stimulating neural pathways related to language and communication. The program strengthens the brain’s ability to process and interpret sounds, leading to better speech clarity, listening comprehension, and social interactions.

Missica, mother to two autistic boys

The Soundsory headphones can also be used as regular Bluetooth headphones that connect to any Bluetooth device. I knew these would see a lot of use! Mr. B and Princess J enjoyed listening to the music, and we found ourselves listening before starting our schoolwork for the day because it seemed to help both kids focus and attend to tasks much better. It is almost like Soundsory got their brains ready to learn and process! Overall, we are VERY pleased with Soundsory. I am very intrigued and impressed at the improvement in attention I see in both children.

Heidi, mother to two girls with sensory difficulties

My youngest daughter, who has some mild sensory issues, used the Soundsory program. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed she was more relaxed and not as bothered by sensory things as she usually is. It’s nice seeing her enjoy normal activities and not get distressed like she can. This is a big improvement! If you have a special needs child who goes to sensory integration therapy training or any other therapy dealing with cognitive or motor delays, the Soundsory program is worth a try. It’s so much more convenient to do therapy at home.

Monique, mother to two boys with sensory sensitivities

The program is programmed right into a set of high-quality wireless headphones. They are very light and comfortable. My boys and I used them and were very happy with their fit. Soundsory uses music and exercise to help rewire and organize the brain. Because the headphones can also be synced through Bluetooth with an iPhone, we reward Zakari at the end and let him pick one of his favorite songs to listen to when his 30-minute therapy is over. Soundsory uses Neuroplasticity to help kiddos like my son become less sensitive to noises.
